Dining Room/Art Space progress

June 22, 2026

This front room has lived so many lives. I've only been here a year, and already that room has been a gym, a storage facility and a guest bedroom. Initially I was going to rock with the gym idea until I realised that months had passed and I hadn't touched a single weight - it would have been an absolute waste of space. I then asked the community over on IG for some ideas and both a dining room and a creative space were suggested so I thought hey! Why not both??

And so here we are :D

I'll be sharing progress through pictures, and apologies if the quality is terrible in some of these! The older ones were taken on an old phone.

Above: This was the first month! Jun 2025. Used the space as a storage facility more than anything else during this time.

Then I thought about turning the space into a home gym, but the only work out I did was to clean the dust off the apparatus as it all sat there for months.

Then I emptied out the space and went back to the drawing board.

After deciding to go the dining room/art space angle - I ordered a gorgeous rug from Argos and a dining table. This kicked things off!

Bought some plants, some art work (and one seat cushion cause I wanted to see if I like the colour!) The cats LOVE IT!

Getting there!!! Bought a beautiful 70cm x 100cm art print by Studio Imo

This last pic is where things are at now. I've got a way to go as some things need fixing (look at the top of the blinds!) I also want to put up some shelves, add some lamps and put up some more artwork on the walls (one of the walls is completely plain)

I also want to change the main light as it's hideous at the moment, but we're getting there. Everything is moving slowly because it all costs money, and we know how that goes!

I'll keep you updated as I make progress with this room.
